Masih terdapat sekurang-kurang 17 peserta yang telah mendaftar tetapi belum menjelaskan bayaran. Bagi pihak penganjur, saya akan menerima dan mengutamakan 80 peserta terawal yang mendaftar dengan pembayaran. Sekiranya belum mencapai maksimum 80m peserta pada hari pertandingan, pendaftaran secara walk in masih boleh diterima tetapi dengan kadar YURAN RM50 (tidak boleh dirunding)

There are only a few days left to register with the entry fee RM 30.00. After the 1st of November, the "subsidy will be rerationalised" and the fee shall be RM 40.00 for the open. This tournamaent is opened to all MALAYSIAN CITIZENS only. Your MyKad/MyKid shall be your evidence for this.

My personal analysis from the recent Macau aged group

 

I had been following on a few games of the juniors. This is natural enough as I have a daughter and 2 sons who are involving (though not very much success so far) in chess. My aim to bring my daughter and both of my sons to the MSSM level was not fully achieved this year (except for my eldelst son who managed to qualify in representing Putrajaya in MSSM 2014), and I admit that, they have to work harder if they want to go further in chess. On presenting the country as juniors, I humbly admit that, I feel that, they are 'not very fit' to play at international level. True, if I wait and wait, there is possibility that the 'waiting' will be in a forn of perpetuity. Therefore, I would try my best to open the path to them to enjoy chess, not only at national (or local) level, but at the international level, when the 'time is right' or in the positive form - 'very soon'. My daughter, for example was not consistent in her results. She managed to beat even the best (1st seeded Zainoor Ikmal Munirah in the recent MSSS Selangor) but then had mediocre results in the  next 3 rounds.This typical phenomena was repeated in the recent National aged group (U10G) when after having full points, she encounterd the favourite and the 1st seeded, Goh Ji Yie and unexpectedly produced a win, which was quite convincing. But, in the next round, and the following rounds until the end of the tournament, she began to lose all the remaining games. I had been following closely the juniors boys and girls in action at the recent Macau aged group. One of the games played in Macau had strucked my eyes when I think, Chua Jia-Tien (Goh Ji Yie's good friend from Penang) had missed a brilliant sacrificial game in the second round. For the sacrifice skill to be developed, I think, after studying Tal, Shirov or Kasparov's games, she would be very strong in future.

My friend in chess who is currently settled down in Perlis, Syaiful Zamani had e-mailed to me the tournament he had been conducted since a few years back, and this time shall be held on the 24th May 2014 at Hotel Putra, Kangar Perlis

One of my good friends at chess, Mohd Saprin Sabri had emerged as the champion of the recent UPSI Chess Open (open category). It has been some time Saprin does not particpate in an individual event. The reason is, he wants to focus on his sons' performance at chess tournament. Below was  the final top 53 from this tournament. Rh6 is the last trap which fails to Rh2+ (Of course 47... Kxh6?? {stalemate}) 48. Kxg4 Rxh6)  47... Kxh7 {White resigned.Overall this is not a perfect Game but considering the game was played under 45 minutes Time Control it is still one big achievement for me in my chess career.}  0-1

CATUR MAKSWIP 2013:  ALL ARE AIMIING FOR THE BEST FIGHTING CHESS Despite a small controversy prior to the kick off of the tournaments, it had been decided that, the MAKSWIP Chess 2013 shall be competed after all on this coming 21st and 22nd of September 2013. The Venue was set in the meeting to be held at RISDA Building Ampang, but the JPA is trying their best to offer a more condusive spot as a venue for this prestigous tournament. Among the confirmed teams are: DBKL, CIDB(2 teams), JPA (2 teams), LHDN, KWSP, KESAN, HRC, JKDM (Customs)(2 teams), MyIPO. The arbiter IA Abdul LAtif Mohamad still expecting more teams to turn up as participants as the date had been resheduled to 21st and 22nd September instead of the orginal schedule 17,18,19 September (4.00pm-12.00 midnight). More participation is anticipated from Bank Negara, Kem. Kerja Raya, BSN, Securities Commisioner, Jabatan Pendidikan Wilayah and Ministry of Finance. Some other rare teams which had occured in the history of MAKSWIP are Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara, MESCA, PERKESO, FRIM, LEMBAGA GETAH, MALAYSIAN TIMBER (MTIB). Last year's top 3 spots were the defending champion for the 11 consercutive years aincw 2002. LHDN led by 2 ex national players Mohd Saprin and Subramaniam emerged as the MAKSWIP champion in 2001. Unfortunately, all the last year's scoresheets were missing. Nobody knows who took all the scoresheets. Therefore I personally could not commemorate all the games into a chess buletin, a thing (or rather a profession) which I normally do. It is all for preserving the records and as an innitiative to upgrade all MAKSWIP chess players skill  and level of play. The previous recorded game compiled into a chess buletin can be a very useful tool as a chess database which is a source for the chess training and preparation for the next series of MAKSWIP chess. Hopefully, this years' games records could be commerorated into a chess buletin. The ultimate objective of this tournamanet is to select 6 best players from any teams participated to represent MASKWIP in the next MAKSAK 2013 which shall be held at Johore Baharu from 3rd to 6th October 2013.

I was invited to join this event as the arbiter by Halif Zurhan of MOF. This is my second time to fulfil the task as an erbiter of this event. In the last year's series the JANM (Jabatan Akauntan Negara Malaysia) or a.k.a. as Accountant General (AG) had won the gold medal. The full result is as follows:
